The Pipe |

Now that we have determined what the pipe shadow actually is, we can more easily determine what the pipe itself is. The pipe, according to the theorists, runs the length of the fuselage (hence the shadow), and is there to conceal the exhaust of the missile leaving the missile pod. Well, if there is no "pipe" shadow, then what exactly is that silvery/grey strip that they are calling the pipe? As we travel UP the right side of the fuselage, eventually the shadow ends and the sun begins lighting up the plane. This strip is simply the starboard side of the fuselage as it rounds its' way into the sun. Keep in mind though, that the fuselage is round so the quality of the reflection will constantly change as the "tangent angle" changes (my lay term there). The reflection wouldn't necessarily look identical to what we see on the underside of the starboard wing. Pipe Theory Status: Debunked |
